| Hmong Students Unveil New Children's Book |
A group of Hmong students at D.C. Everest is celebrating their new children's book. They unveiled the book, "Zaj Lus: A Hmong Children's Story Collection" at The Dudley Tower in Wausau Wednesday evening. The students wrote the book as part of the oral history project at school. It took them two years to put it together. It's a way for students to take stories that are passed down from generation to generation and put them in writing. The book is geared toward children and features four different Hmong folk tales. "We tried to find a good moral for the stories," says Yer Thor, Project Leader. "We went through the community asking leaders and our grandparents." The book costs $12.
